Workshop for grantmakers focuses on supporting nonprofit capacity
APPLETON, Wis. – Representatives from various grantmakers including foundations, corporations or other funding entities are invited to attend an upcoming educational workshop highlighting the importance of organizational capacity to nonprofit mission effectiveness.

Kimberly-Clark Neenah Conference Center, 2300 Winchester Road
The workshop will be presented by nationally recognized consultant Susan Kenny Stevens, Ph.D. and will highlight:
· Differences between nonprofit capacity, high performance, and effectiveness.
· Seven stages of nonprofit capacity and how each one builds on the other.
· Differences between investing in capacity and funding overhead.
· A grantmaker’s legitimate role in capacity intervention.

Susan Kenny Stevens, Ph.D., is a nationally recognized consultant to many local and national foundations. Over the past 25 years, she has written extensively on financial and management issues pertaining to philanthropy and the nonprofit sector. She is the author of the award winning book Nonprofit Lifecycles: Stage-based Wisdom for Nonprofit Capacity.
